Welcome beta users. Things might break, but we're working hard.

Gelato is real-time search meets online dating. We call it stream dating.

We're re-inventing what it means to have an online dating profile. Instead of looking at static, carefully-crafted profiles, you are looking at a real-time stream of what people are actually doing. More authenticity means better dating connections.

We do this by pulling in a users' data from facebooktwitternetflixlastfm and other social media to quickly and easily create a dynamic, multi-faceted online dating profile. This helps Gelato solve three main problems with online dating:

  • Length of time to create a profile on other sites. Read more. Watch Video
It takes more than 10 minutes to create a profile on Match.com, according to NextUp Research. And then 24 hours to get it approved. It takes an hour on eHarmony. It takes less than 2 minutes to create a detailed profile on Gelato.
  • Fake profiles on other sites Read more.
61% of online daters believe others are misrepresenting themselves on dating sites, according to Keynote Research. By showing what people are actually doing, it's harder to misrepresent yourself on Gelato. We've also created an innovative authenticity scoring system that uses a person's social networks to measure the validity of the profile, while maintaining anonymity.
  • Finding people based on specific interests. Read more.
Niche dating sites like FarmersOnline and GolfDates exist to help daters find others based on a common interest or characteristic. Most of us have broad interests, however. On Gelato, you might do a search for someone who has recently mentioned "Battlestar Galatica", either by renting it at Netflix, watching it at Hulu, or tweeting about it. Or you might be interested in someone who has recently mentioned Arctic Monkeys. Or farming. Or golfing. Or whatever.
